A two-sided Kente cloth, hand-woven from cotton and silk.
The Ashanti of the Gold Coast control the only source of gold available to pre-Columbian Christendom. They learned to weave from Kong weavers. The weavers would obtain their silk either from Italian waste silk which was brought down across the Sahara or the silk would be bought from European traders on the coast.
